Under my leadership, we’ve expanded our capabilities across industrial, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality and office sectors, delivering projects that balance functionality, efficiency, and thoughtful design. Our team also specializes in comprehensive interior alterations, helping clients transform existing and new spaces into environments that support their goals and reflect their identity.
Outside of work, I value time spent on the golf course and enjoying life with my wife — a balance that keeps me grounded and focused as I continue to lead our firm forward.

CJ works closely with owners, developers, and stakeholders as a project manager and lead, guiding projects from early planning through permitting, coordination, and construction support. His work spans a wide range of commercial project types—including office, retail, and warehouse/industrial facilities—where the details matter, deadlines are real, and communication can’t be optional. Known for being thorough and solutions-focused, CJ is committed to making sure each project meets the client’s requirements, stays organized, and moves forward smoothly.
Based in the Mid-Atlantic, CJ has worked primarily on projects throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. He values the advantage of a smaller, family-owned firm: responsive service, direct access to leadership, and a level of personal accountability that clients can feel from day one. To CJ, every project is a relationship—and his goal is simple: deliver smart, efficient design with clear communication, practical problem-solving, and a steady hand from start to finish.
In His free time CJ enjoys playing with his dog Spock, building computers and learning the latest and greatest technology. He has been known to frequent a racetrack on the weekends as well as racing them virtually in video games. He has a love for sports cars and anything with four wheels and a motor.

Don Matthews Jr.
Project Manager / Director of Permitting
Don Matthews Jr graduated from Morgan State University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture and Environmental Design.

Mr. Matthews has over 18 years of experience in the commercial architecture field. He has developed a strong foundation in overseeing office, retail and warehouse design projects from programming through construction. Don also has over 18 years of experience navigating the permitting process for local jurisdictions as well as submitting permits outside of the DMV or Mid-Atlantic region. He oversees the Hofmann permitting team as our Director of Permitting. In his spare time, Don likes spending time indoors, but will hit the roads on one of his ebikes when he has the opportunity. He loves to cheer for his beloved “WashiMore RavManders” football teams and is an avid fan of karaoke and enjoys watching home improvement shows and game shows.
Elizabeth Walsh
Senior Project Manager
Elizabeth Walsh started working in the architectural field in 1999 while attending Howard Community College located in Columbia, Maryland. She graduated in 2001 with an associate’s degree in computer-aided design technology.

During her 25+ year career, Elizabeth has enjoyed assisting architects with the development of design and construction documents for a wide variety of residential and commercial project types. Elizabeth joined the Hofmann Associates team in 2022. As Senior Project Manager at Hofmann Commercial Architecture, her vast experience is invaluable to the success of the projects she manages.
Phil Jankiewicz
Senior Project Manager
Phil Jankiewicz earned his Bachelor of Architecture in 2010 from the Virginia Tech College of Architecture and Urban Studies, gaining experience in building processes and construction management during semester breaks throughout his undergraduate studies.

Since graduation, Mr. Jankiewicz has been working in the field of commercial architecture. He was drawn to the profession through his scholastic interests in math, art, and graphic design, which developed into a passion for improvement of the built environment. Making planned trips for work presentation and feedback, he returned to Virginia Tech to complete his Master of Architecture in 2018 while continuing to work full-time in the greater Baltimore area. He is currently pursuing licensure in the state of Maryland. When Mr. Jankiewicz is not in the office or studying for the Architect Registration Examination, he enjoys spending time with his wife, his two labrador retrievers named Franklin and Jackson, or delving into a book in his home library. He has a strong passion for anything art, design and history related, frequently visiting museums, iconic works of architecture, parks, and monuments.
Asia Nguyen
Senior Cad Designer
Asia Nguyen graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in December 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a minor in Sustainability Studies.

Asia a LEED Green Associate and joined Hofmann Commercial Architecture, Inc. in early 2024 as an architectural designer. Since then, she has gained experience across all phases of project development and design for a variety of warehouse and office space projects.
